Don’t Think. Just Dance.

Megan and Sadie have been teaching dance collectively for over 20 years and have decided to join forces and open Oliver Brown Dance Academy. They are passionate about spreading the joy of dance and boosting the students confidence and self esteem. Being involved in dance classes not only promotes a healthy active lifestyle but teaches discipline, team work and builds confidence. Meet life long friends and be a part of a supportive dance family. "Friends that dance together, stay together"

you're in good hands....

Megan started dancing at the age of 4 and never stopped. Whilst growing up and dancing in Torquay she competed in various dance competitions, winning the modern and tap championships and senior Ruby Ginner Finals. Along side competing, Megan took exams with the ISTD and passed with distinction, advanced 2 modern, advanced 2 tap, advanced 2 classical greek, advanced 1 ballet and all her jazz levels. At the age of 18 she took her first teaching exam with the ISTD. After deciding to continue dance as a career Megan successfully auditioned and gained a Dance and Drama award to attend Stella Mann Performing Arts College. Studying at Stella she enjoyed 3 intense years of dance training and gained a Level 6 Diploma in Professional Dance. After graduating in 2011 Megan moved back home and started teaching locally where she went on to take her freestyle teaching exam and Acro Arts qualification. Since being back in Newton Abbot Megan has taken over a local dance company, Destination Dance, and performs professionally around the country and abroad. She has been lucky enough to dance in the London 2012 Olympic ceremony, Bahrain GP and Global Village in Dubai to name a few. She choreographs all of Destination Dance’s shows and has choreographed the Bridgwater Pantomime for the last 2 years. Megan is so excited to be starting Oliver Brown Dance Academy with her friend Sadie and can’t wait to get started handing down her love of dance and performance to the future dance stars of Devon.

Sadie trained in all disciplines locally under the late Pamela De Waal school and performed across the country before having her son in 2014.
She was dance captain for the Babbacombe theatre in Torquay for 5 years and is the Resident Choreographer for Matpro Ltd at Babbacombe Theatre for the Christmas and West end productions, she has been doing this for 5 years. Sadie also had the honour of performing in Pickwick the Musical with Sir Harry Seacombe at the age of 9.
Sadie taught on the BTEC level 3 performing arts dance course at KEVVIC for 5 years before the funding was cut by the government. She currently teaches for the Totnes Progressive School in dance and BTEC level 2 performing arts.
Sadie is qualified with the ISTD at DDE level and is working towards her Licenciate teaching exams under Karen Collings. Sadie has been entering pupils for exams through the ISTD for over 10 years and has enjoyed achieving excellent exam results.
Sadie has a love of teaching and an energy for performance which she brings to the school, she is still and has been teaching for the Totnes School of dance for 13 years, which have nurtured her teaching skills and development.

Sadie also has a dynamic variety touring company, Tap Fever, and Euphoria Performing Arts: offering level 2 and 3 BTec in performing arts and teacher teaching with the ISTD.

She has a son called Joey and a passion for all areas of dance and is extremely excited to be joining with Megan to share their love and passion for the arts at Oliver Brown Dance Academy.
